Awards & Prizes

The top three ranking solutions will be awarded as follows:

  • Gold Prize: $10,000 
    • Meeting with the AARP team
  • Silver Prize: $7,000
  • Bronze Prize: $3,000

Submission Requirements

  • Brief overview of the solution (up to 250 words)
  • Brief video (3 minutes or less) describing the solution, the design principles it follows, and how it meets the evaluation criteria
    • This can be a demo video of the working product or a video explaining the design of the solution and what makes it unique
  • Slide deck (up to 10 slides) including:
    • Vision behind the design of the proposed solution
    • How the solution improves the quality of life of caregivers
    • Product development & plans for growth
  • Visual composition (up to 5 pages) demonstrating design and layout of the solution, which may include: 
    • Wireframes, mockups, screenshots, or prototypes
  • Optional: Demonstrations of human-centered design approach, which may include: 
    • Usability and usefulness testing findings, user research findings, behavioral persona archetypes, journey maps, service blueprints (up to 3 pages) 

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated and scored based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation: Creativity and uniqueness of the solution
  • Scalability: Potential for growth & widespread adoption
  • Design: Design of the solution, including user friendliness & use of a human-centered design process to effectively address the needs of caregivers and provide a positive experience  (See human-centered design guidelines)
  • Impact: Overall potential to improve quality of life for the caregiver community, at large
